Exit Art has charted the new in art and contemporary culture since its founding in 1982 by directors Jeanette Ingberman and Papo Colo. Over the course of 20 years, Exit Art has acquired a reputation for curatorial innovation, depth of programming in diverse media, and especially for bringing to public attention the work of important under recognized artists. Part of its mission is to present the work of emerging artists in innovative ways that expose the diverse, multi-disciplinary nature of contemporary culture.

about the artist: Guerra de la Paz is the composite name that represents the creative team efforts of Cuban born artists, Alain Guerra and Neraldo de la Paz. They are the recipient of the 2008 SCOPE Foundation Grant for artist project “Under the Banyan Tree,” they are are represented in the Saatchi Collection (London), 21C Museum Foundation (Louisville, KY), Frost Art Museum (Miami, FL), Miami Art Museum (Miami, FL), and The Cintas Fellows Collection.

about the gallery: Exit Art is an independent vision of contemporary culture prepared to react immediately to important issues that affect our lives. We do experimental, historical and unique presentations of aesthetic, social, political and environmental issues. We absorb cultural differences that become prototype exhibitions. We are a center for multiple disciplines. Exit Art is a 25-year-old cultural center in New York City founded by Directors Jeanette Ingberman and Papo Colo.
