FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Creative Thriftshop is excited to announce an open call for participation, and everyones’ invited!
Killa Kouch is an icon, a beloved friend to all those who have known him over the last decade. He, like any ailing figure-head, may have to retire soon. But before he does; CTS wants to make sure he is forever immortalized in the textbooks of time by offering to all of you out there in the world a chance to come and have your photo taken on his lap.
Yes, we are serious. You get five shots, move around, pose, ponder, meditate, this is a collaborative project and the more you do the better it will be.
Killa Kouch is a living legend in the small community of living legends. As a leading figure in an avant-garde movement of progressive homeless street poetry that originated in the early 70's; he engineered a hybrid form of intellectual gentrification that saw the amalgamation of high brow concepts spliced with low-brow expectations. Unfortunately, like most genius creators, he was attracted by the ubiquitous addictions of stardom. As a recovering homeless junky and war torn veteran of life, he continues at his old age to inspire and to teach the youth beauty and truth through the enamoring vehicle of poetry & a soft cushion.
###
about the curator: Born and raised in New York, Lynn del Sol currently lives and works in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. In late 2003 she left the commercial art world and set to create a vehicle for expletory artists to exhibit their works to the public by founding {CTS} creative thriftshop, a young art company that represents international emerging and under-represented artists.
about the gallery: CTS is quality art on the move. Championing provocative content driven work by local and international mid-career, underrepresented, and emerging artists in all media. Our goal is to build an infrastructure that knows no boundaries, one that carries the torch of modernism acting as a vehicle for dreamers, a cultural meeting place for great minds, an international community of interconnectivity and expandability
